JEE Main 2026: Thousands May Face Rejection - Have You Updated These Documents Yet?

With JEE Main 2026 registration set to commence in October 2025, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a critical advisory urging lakhs of engineering aspirants to immediately update their documents. Failure to comply could result in application rejection, potentially derailing admission dreams for thousands of students.

Critical Documents Need Immediate Attention

The NTA has specifically advised students appearing for JEE Main 2026 to verify and update three crucial documents: Aadhaar cards, UDID cards for persons with disabilities, and category certificates including EWS, SC, ST, and OBC-NCL credentials. This precautionary measure aims to prevent discrepancies during the online application process.

According to the official advisory, students must ensure their Aadhaar card details—including name, date of birth, photograph, and other personal information—match exactly with their school records. Any mismatch could lead to complications during registration or even at the admission stage.

Why This Advisory Matters

JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two sessions: Session 1 in January and Session 2 in April. The examination serves as the gateway for admission to prestigious National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions across India.

For candidates claiming reservation benefits, updating category certificates becomes even more critical. The NTA has emphasized that outdated or incorrect certificates may result in immediate application rejection. Similarly, persons with disabilities must ensure their UDID cards are valid and renewed if necessary.

Action Required Now

Engineering aspirants are advised to complete all document updates at least one month before the registration window opens. Students should visit the official JEE Main website at http://jeemain.nta.nic.in regularly for the latest notifications and detailed guidelines.

The NTA’s proactive advisory reflects the agency’s commitment to ensuring a smooth application process. However, the responsibility ultimately lies with candidates to verify their documents promptly. With thousands of students competing for limited seats, even minor documentation errors could prove costly.

Don’t let administrative oversights derail your engineering dreams—update your documents today.
