The much-anticipated Skoda Octavia RS has created unprecedented demand in the Indian automotive market, with all 100 allocated units getting completely booked within days of opening reservations. The Czech automaker’s performance sedan has clearly struck a chord with Indian enthusiasts, despite its premium positioning.
Record-Breaking Response
Skoda India opened bookings for the Octavia RS on October 6 with a token amount of ₹2.5 lakh through its official website. Within a remarkably short span, all available units were snapped up by eager buyers, highlighting the strong appetite for performance sedans in India. This overwhelming response comes ahead of the official launch scheduled for October 17, 2025.
Skoda Octavia RS: Expected Pricing
Industry experts estimate the Skoda Octavia RS to be priced upwards of ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a premium performance offering. This pricing places the sporty sedan in direct competition with established luxury sedans like the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, Audi A4, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, though with a distinctly sportier character.
Performance and Specifications
The Octavia RS arrives in India in UK-spec form, featuring the powerful EA888 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. This powerplant delivers an impressive 265 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This represents a significant upgrade over the previous Octavia RS 245, which produced 245 PS.
Feature-Loaded Package
The Skoda Octavia RS comes equipped with comprehensive premium features including a panoramic sunroof, advanced ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), adaptive cruise control, and sportier 18-inch alloy wheels as standard. The cabin retains the spaciousness of the standard Octavia while adding performance-oriented touches.

As a halo product for Skoda India, the Octavia RS represents the brand’s commitment to offering enthusiast-focused vehicles in the Indian market, despite the limited allocation of just 100 units for the entire country.
