The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an important notice regarding the minimum eligibility criteria for Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for the academic session 2025-26.

 Rules for Private Candidates and Repeaters

Private Candidates:

 

1) Must complete the entire syllabus independently.

2) Internal assessments must be completed through a recognized study center or the registered school.

4) Additional subject eligibility applies only if the private candidate can prove proper assessment completion.

 

 

Repeaters (Improvement Candidates):

 

1) Must have passed the board exam previously.

2) Required to complete internal assessments again to appear for improvement.

Schools must:

 

1) Inform students and parents about all eligibility requirements, including the rule that additional subjects are not allowed if the teacher is unavailable.

1) Ensure that their child attends school regularly.
