Yamaha India has expanded its popular FZ family with the new Yamaha FZ RAVE, a street-fighter-styled 149cc motorcycle aimed at urban riders who want bold looks and everyday usability. The bike has been launched with an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹1,17,218 (Delhi) and is available in two colour options.

What’s new — design and features

The FZ RAVE borrows the proven Blue Core 149cc fuel-injected motor found in Yamaha’s FZ range but wraps it in a sharper, more aggressive streetfighter shell — a redesigned LED headlight, muscular tank shrouds and single-piece stepped seat give it a distinct, younger look. Yamaha has equipped the FZ RAVE with front and rear disc brakes and single-channel ABS, a negative LCD instrument cluster and Bluetooth connectivity via Yamaha’s app on selected variants.

Engine, performance and practical specs

Mechanically the FZ RAVE sticks to a tried-and-tested formula: a 149cc air-cooled, FI motor delivering around 12.2–12.4 bhp and 13.3 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Kerb weight is about 136 kg and fuel tank capacity is 13 litres, which keeps the bike light and city-friendly.

Price, on-road cost and availability

Yamaha lists the ex-showroom price at ₹1,17,218 (Delhi). On-road price varies by city after RTO and insurance; Delhi on-road estimates from market trackers put the FZ RAVE at around ₹1.33–1.34 lakh (inclusive of RTO and insurance), so buyers should check local showroom quotes for an exact on-road price.

Mileage — what to expect

Yamaha has not published an ARAI (certified) mileage figure for the FZ RAVE yet. Official spec pages and dealer listings therefore do not list a certified kmpl; real-world economy will likely be in line with Yamaha’s other 149cc FZ models (many of which return mid-40s to 50 kmpl depending on riding style), but definitive owner and ARAI figures will appear after more deliveries and tests. Buyers wanting precise Yamaha FZ RAVE mileage figures should watch for ARAI updates and early owner reports.

Verdict — who is it for?

The Yamaha FZ RAVE targets riders who want Yamaha reliability with a sharper streetfighter look at an accessible price. It competes with commuter-friendly 150cc machines while adding modern styling and connectivity — a sensible pick if you want an affordable, stylish city bike from a trusted brand.
