Tata Motors has launched the much-anticipated Tata Harrier EV, and it’s already turning heads in India’s electric vehicle market. With an introductory price starting at just ₹21.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the homegrown automaker has delivered a feature-packed electric SUV that challenges the very definition of value for money.
Premium Features at an Accessible Price Point
The Tata Harrier EV comes loaded with technology that was once reserved for luxury vehicles.
At its heart is a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite, featuring adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking.
This positions the Harrier EV as one of the most affordable SUVs in India to offer such advanced safety technology.
Inside, the cabin impresses with a panoramic sunroof, a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Dolby Atmos sound, ventilated seats, and a digital instrument cluster.
The SUV also features innovative additions like a 540-degree camera view, self-parking mode, and even a summon mode that allows the vehicle to park or retrieve itself remotely.
Range That Eliminates Anxiety
One of the biggest concerns for Indian EV buyers has always been range anxiety. The Tata Harrier EV addresses this head-on with an impressive ARAI-certified range of up to 627 kilometers on a single charge, thanks to its optional 75 kWh battery pack.
A smaller 65 kWh variant is also available for those seeking a more budget-friendly option.
Fast charging capabilities further sweeten the deal, with the ability to charge from 20% to 80% in just 25 minutes using a DC fast charger.
This makes the Harrier EV practical for both daily commutes and weekend road trips.
Power Meets Performance
Under the hood, the Tata Harrier EV offers two powertrain options.
The entry-level variants come with a single motor producing 235 bhp, while the top-spec models feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup delivering a combined 504 Nm of torque.
The AWD version can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds—performance figures that rival many petrol-powered sports SUVs.
The SUV also gets terrain modes including Sand, Rock Crawl, and Snow, making it capable beyond city limits.
Built on Safety
Safety hasn’t been compromised either. The Harrier EV comes with up to 7 airbags, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, and a body structure ready for a 5-star BNCAP rating.
Additional features include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) power transfer capabilities, adding practical versatility.

Market Impact
Priced between ₹21.49 lakh and ₹28.99 lakh across its 16 variants, the Tata Harrier EV has positioned itself as a serious contender in the premium electric SUV segment.
It directly challenges established players while offering features that often come at significantly higher price points in competing models.
For Indian buyers looking to make the transition to electric mobility without compromising on features, space, or performance, the Tata Harrier EV appears to have hit the sweet spot. As the electric revolution accelerates in India, this could be the vehicle that brings premium EV ownership within reach of the middle-class buyer.
