HP on Monday expanded its India laptop lineup with two AI-focused additions — the OmniBook 5 and OmniBook 3 — aimed at students, hybrid workers and mainstream creators who want on-device AI and long battery life without premium pricing. The new models bring HP’s on-device HP AI Companion, dedicated NPUs in select SKUs, and refreshed displays and ports across the series.

Prices and availability

The OmniBook 3 hits the market with an entry price of ₹69,999 for the 14-inch configuration, while the OmniBook 5 14-inch starts slightly higher (street prices vary by configuration). All models are being sold through HP’s India online store and authorised retail partners in Glacier Silver finishes. HP says stock is available now across channels.

What’s new — AI, screens and battery

HP positions the OmniBook 5 as a next-gen, Snapdragon-powered thin-and-light with an optional HP AI Companion for local AI tasks (summaries, picture and voice assistance, and system optimisation). The OmniBook 5 also offers up to a 14-inch 2K OLED panel and large batteries that HP rates for long runtimes. The OmniBook 3, meanwhile, is offered in 14- and 15.6-inch sizes and uses AMD Ryzen AI silicon in selected variants, bringing built-in NPU acceleration for background AI tasks like webcam enhancement and transcription.

Real-world highlights

Early reviews praise the OmniBook 5 for an excellent OLED display and class-leading battery endurance for the price band, while noting the Snapdragon platforms favour efficiency over raw heavy-compute performance — ideal for creators on the move and long study sessions. The OmniBook 3 is marketed as a reliable everyday machine with AI features (Windows Studio Effects, noise cancellation, and faster video-call pipelines).

Who should buy?

Choose the OmniBook 5 if you prioritise display quality and battery life with lightweight portability. Opt for the OmniBook 3 if you want a larger screen option or AMD-based AI acceleration for multitasking and hybrid meetings — all at an attractive entry-level price starting at ₹69,999.

HP’s new OmniBook line signals the mainstreaming of local AI features in everyday laptops — delivering practical on-device smarts without forcing users into premium price tiers. For full specs, configurations and buying options check HP India’s product pages.
