The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) declared the much-awaited CA Result 2025 for the September session on Sunday, November 3, 2025, revealing numbers that have left aspiring chartered accountants across the nation stunned. In a dramatic outcome, only 14,609 candidates out of 98,827 who appeared for the CA Foundation examination managed to clear the test, recording a modest pass percentage of just 14.78%.
The ICAI CA Result announcement came in two phases—CA Final and Intermediate results were released at 2 PM, while the Foundation results followed at 5 PM. Students can now access their scorecards through the official website at icai.nic.in by entering their roll number and registration number.
Gender Gap Widens in Foundation Results
The CA Results Declared today also revealed a noticeable gender disparity in performance. Male candidates fared marginally better with 8,046 qualifying out of 51,120 aspirants, achieving a 15.74% pass rate. Female candidates, meanwhile, saw 6,563 successful candidates from 47,707 test-takers, recording a 13.76% pass percentage.
L Rajalakshmi from Chennai emerged as the All India Rank 1 holder in the CA Foundation examination, followed by Prem Agarwal of Surat in second position, and Neel Rajesh Shah from Mumbai securing the third rank.
CA Final and Intermediate: Mixed Results
The ICAI Result 2025 for CA Final examinations showed that 11,466 candidates successfully qualified as Chartered Accountants. Among those who appeared for both groups simultaneously, only 2,727 out of 16,800 candidates cleared the examination, achieving a 16.23% overall pass rate.
Group-wise performance revealed interesting patterns. Group I recorded a 24.66% pass percentage with 12,811 candidates qualifying from 51,955 who appeared. Group II performed slightly better with 25.26% pass rate, where 8,151 candidates succeeded among 32,273 test-takers.
Mukund Agiwal from Dhamnod created history by topping the CA Final examination with an outstanding 83.33% score, securing 500 marks out of 600. He was followed by Tejas Mundada from Hyderabad with 82.00% (492 marks) and Bakul Gupta from Alwar with 81.50% (489 marks).
Intermediate Course Records Lowest Pass Rate
The CA Intermediate examination witnessed the toughest outcome with merely 10.06% overall pass percentage. Out of 36,398 candidates who appeared for both groups, only 3,663 managed to clear the examination. Neha Khanwani from Jaipur secured the first rank in the Intermediate category, followed by Kriti Sharma from Ahmedabad and Akshai Birendra from Mumbai.
The Group II of CA Intermediate recorded a comparatively better performance with 27.14% pass rate, emerging as the highest among all groups across all levels.
What’s Next for Candidates?
Candidates who have cleared the CA Foundation examination can now register for the CA Intermediate course. The registration for January 2026 examinations has already begun from November 3, 2025. Students can register without late fees until November 16, 2025, while late fee registration remains open till November 19, 2025.
For unsuccessful candidates, ICAI offers a result verification facility through its online portal. Applicants can also request certified copies of their answer sheets by submitting a fee of Rs. 100 via registered post.
The September 2025 examinations were conducted across multiple centers in India and overseas. Foundation exams were held on September 16, 18, 20, and 22, while Intermediate exams took place between September 4-15, and Final exams were conducted from September 3-14, 2025.
To qualify, candidates must secure a minimum of 40% in each paper and achieve an overall aggregate of at least 50% in Foundation and Intermediate levels. Those scoring 70% or above receive the distinction of “Pass with Distinction.”
As thousands of aspirants review their results today, the challenging pass percentages underscore the rigorous standards maintained by ICAI in producing qualified chartered accountants for the nation.
